Justin Sowder, MD
Dr. Justin C. Sowder, MD is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon, certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. A native of West Texas, Dr. Sowder earned his B.S. in Biology from the University of Arkansas before graduating as valedictorian from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he was also inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
He went on to complete his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Utah, followed by a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Sowder joined Finn Plastic Surgery in 2022 after more than three years as an Assistant Professor of Facial Plastic Surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Sowder specializes exclusively in aesthetic procedures of the face and neck. His surgical expertise includes facelift and neck lift, facial fat grafting, rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, brow rejuvenation, eyelid surgery, otoplasty (ear reshaping), and lip lift. He also offers advanced non-surgical treatments such as laser skin resurfacing, micro-coring (Ellacor), and injectables.
Known for his patient-centered approach, Dr. Sowder values building long-term relationships and takes time to understand each patient’s goals in order to create fully personalized treatment plans.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Sowder is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fly fishing, boating, snow skiing, and watching football. Most importantly, he cherishes time with his wife, Dr. Aleksandra Sowder, their two children, Henry and Emma Cate, and their dogs, Milly and Dolly.

S. Tyler Elkins-Williams, MD
Dr. Elkins-Williams (Dr. Tyler to his patients!) is a double board-certified plastic surgeon with a focus on Aesthetic Breast and Body Surgery. He loves being able to offer patients a wide variety of treatments to fit their needs, from minimally invasive procedures and injections, to surgical options.
He believes in helping patients practice self-care by feeling good and confident about themselves. He is known for his excellent bedside manner, communication skills, and his natural results. A native of the Triangle, Dr. Elkins-Williams enjoys exercise, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his wife and 3 children.
Dr. Elkins-Williams completed a 5-year Residency in General Surgery before deciding to focus on Plastic Surgery. He spent an additional 5 years at UNC Hospitals, first in the Jaycee Burn Center, and then completing his comprehensive Residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
After a full 10 years of surgical training, Dr. Elkins-Williams left the hospital for Private Practice, joining Dr. Charlie Finn at Finn Plastic Surgery and learning to become an expert in injections and minimally invasive aesthetic procedures. He is a proud member of The Aesthetic Society, The American Society for Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the North Carolina Society of Plastic Surgeons (NCSPS).

J. Charles Finn, MD
As one of the nation’s leading facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons, Dr. Finn has been serving patients and providing patients with exceptional care for over 25 years.
He is double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He specializes in cosmetic procedure such as facelift, brow lift, and rhinoplasty. His double board certification makes him uniquely qualified in cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty.

Shannon Jones
Shannon has been a key part of Finn Plastic Surgery for over 17 years and now serves as our Business Manager. A proud graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science, she keeps the office running smoothly while making every patient feel welcomed and cared for. Her deep knowledge of the practice and genuine connection with patients make her an invaluable part of our team.
Outside the office, Shannon stays busy with her two daughters, Pressley and Adalyn. This usually involves a lot of time spent at the softball field, as well as numerous family pickle ball games at home. They also share a love for animals and have been known to take in rescues of all varieties, from the furry to the feathered!

Outside of work, Sierra enjoys making art, attending craft fairs and festivals, and spending time with loved ones
Pankti Patel
Pankti Patel
Pankti received her degree in Economics from UNC-Chapel Hill and loves cheering on her Tar Heels! She brings strong organizational skills and attention to detail to her role as Patient Coordinator, guiding patients from their initial consultation through surgery planning and recovery. Pankti enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients and finds it rewarding to see their results bring a positive impact on both their confidence and everyday life. She is dedicated to making the surgery booking process smooth and stress-free so patients feel supported every step of the way. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Mellow, as well as practicing calligraphy and painting.
Amy Costa, LE
Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Amy graduated from the Douglas J Aveda Institute in 2003. Now, with more than 22 years of experience as a licensed aesthetician, Amy brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to every patient she cares for. Since joining FPS in February 2021, she has become a trusted expert in advanced laser technologies and skin treatments, tailoring each service to help patients look and feel their very best.
Amy takes pride in designing personalized treatment plans that support her patients in achieving their unique aesthetic goals. Her warm, thoughtful approach ensures that every patient feels comfortable, cared for, and confident in their journey.
Outside of the clinic, Amy enjoys staying active outdoors with her husband through hiking and biking, and she cherishes time with her dog, Ellie.
Julia Chedaille, RN, BSN
Julia Chedaille, RN, BSN
Julia is a registered nurse and clinical patient coordinator, where she guides patients through the pre-operative process with care and clarity. She strives to provide education and support to every patient, ensuring that they feel confident before surgery. A Charlotte native and UNC Chapel Hill graduate (Go Heels!), Julia began her career in psychiatric nursing before moving into aesthetic medicine. Her background includes work as a nurse injector and laser technician, combining clinical skill with an eye for aesthetics. Outside the office, she enjoys time with her two children, Valentina and Teddy, along with her pets Charlie and Piggy Smalls.
Katie Knowles, RN, BSN
Katie Knowles, RN, BSN
Katie Knowles, RN, BSN, has more than 15 years of experience in surgical nursing and leadership and has spent the last five years as part of the Finn Plastic Surgery team. She is dedicated to building trust with patients and helping them feel comfortable and supported every step of the way.
Outside of the office, Katie enjoys a busy, adventure-filled life with her husband and two boys - whether cheering them on at sports, hiking, or exploring new places together. She also loves her pets and stays creative through sewing, baking, crafting, and building projects.
In addition to her clinical work, Katie plays an active role in the Finn Foundation, supporting annual surgical missions to Guatemala. Helping children and families there has been one of the most powerful and meaningful experiences of her career.
Rachel Melton, RN, BSN
Rachel Melton, RN, BSN
Rachel, a native of Hartsville, South Carolina, graduated from the University of South Carolina with her nursing degree in 2019. She began her plastic surgery nursing career in Columbia, SC and joined the Finn Plastic Surgery team in 2023. She is passionate about building relationships with patients and takes pride in providing attentive, high-quality care that helps every patient feel comfortable and supported. Outside of the office, Rachel loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and their goldendoodle, Chuck. She enjoys staying active and making memories at their favorite South Carolina beach.
Erica Hamric, RN, BSN
Erica Hamric, RN, BSN
Erica is a Raleigh native and graduate of East Carolina University, where she earned her nursing degree in 2017. She began her career as a cardiac nurse, gaining a strong foundation in patient care before transitioning into plastic surgery. She has a passion for aesthetics and a commitment to helping patients feel confident and cared for. She’s dedicated to helping people feel like their best selves and creating a positive, supportive experience for every patient. Outside of work she loves the beach, exploring new places, and enjoys spending time with her husband, twin sister, and family and friends.
Parvene Thompson, CST
Parvene Thompson, CST
Parvene is a certified surgical technologist with over a decade of operating room experience, including the last four years with Finn Plastic Surgery. She takes pride in precision, attention to detail, and helping create a seamless, elevated experience for every patient. A Florida native, she is a proud mom of two boys and a dog mom to two pups. Outside the OR, you can find her flowing through a yoga class, relaxing at the beach, getting lost in a good romance novel, or cheering on her Florida State Seminoles – Go Noles! She believes life should be lived with confidence, balance, and just a little sunshine.
Lindsay Zogbi
Lindsay was born and raised in North Carolina and now serves as one of our Front Office Coordinator, welcoming patients and helping ensure their experience runs smoothly from the very first phone call to check-out. She graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and brings both creativity and organization to her role at the practice. Outside of the office, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her two cats, Minnie and Lottie.
Tamra Finn
Tamra, the lovely wife of Dr. Finn, helped start The FINN Foundation, our non-profit organization. (Filling International and National Needs.) Her background is in furniture and interior design, but now she lends her creativity to making sure The FINN Foundation is a success. She handles all of the logistics and coordination for every medical mission trip abroad and always finds ways for The FINN Foundation to help in our own community. She also volunteers at SECU Family House, another local non-profit organization. When she is not donating her time to helping others, she enjoys spending time with her husband traveling, riding their motorcycles, and snuggling with their sweet dogs, Teddy & Cookie.

Founded by Dr. Finn, the F.I.N.N. Foundation (Filling International and National Needs) was founded to serve local, national, and international medical needs by bridging gaps in medical services in underserved communities both local and abroad.
